Terms of Service
Effective August 5, 2026 · These terms govern your access to and use of Cadet Collective.
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account or using Cadet Collective, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Purpose of the service
Cadet Collective provides pseudonymous reviews and discussions about public-safety careers, workplaces, academies, and training. Content is submitted by community members and represents their personal views. It is not verified employment information, professional advice, legal advice, hiring guidance, or an official statement from any organization.
Do not rely on the service for emergency decisions, operational guidance, medical decisions, legal decisions, or compliance with agency policy.
3. Accounts and pseudonyms
You must provide accurate account information, maintain the security of your password, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Use a public username unrelated to your real name, badge number, work username, or other identifying information.
Pseudonymous participation reduces public exposure but does not guarantee anonymity. You are responsible for details you choose to include in your username, profile, reviews, discussions, and reports.
4. Your content and responsibilities
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Cadet Collective a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, format, and moderate that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the service.
You represent that you have the right to submit your content and that it reflects your honest opinion or accurately describes information you are permitted to share. Clearly distinguish firsthand experience from opinion, rumor, or speculation.
When you permanently delete a review, the public review is deleted. Limited records may remain where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, backups, or moderation integrity, as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Prohibited content and conduct
You may not use the service to post or facilitate:
- Names or identifying details about private individuals without permission, including badge, case, employee, patient, or personnel identifiers.
- Protected health information, criminal-justice information, confidential personnel records, restricted training materials, or nonpublic operational information.
- Profile pictures or other images containing unlawful, exploitative, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, or impersonating content.
- Active-operation details, tactical vulnerabilities, schedules, locations, or other information that could endanger responders or the public.
- Threats, harassment, hate content, defamation, impersonation, retaliation, doxxing, exploitation, or unlawful material.
- Spam, deceptive activity, coordinated rating manipulation, unauthorized scraping, malware, or attempts to bypass security and rate limits.
Our Community Rules provide additional guidance and are incorporated into these Terms.
6. Reviews, moderation, and reports
Reviews may be held for moderation before publication. We may reject, limit, label, edit for privacy, remove, or preserve content; restrict features; suspend accounts; or cooperate with lawful investigations when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect people, or operate the service.
Moderation is inherently contextual. We do not promise to review every submission or guarantee that all content is accurate, complete, safe, or available. You may report content through the tools provided on the service.
7. Intellectual property and third-party services
Cadet Collective’s name, branding, software, design, and original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant permission to copy, resell, or misuse them.
The service may link to official agency sites or use third-party hosting, authentication, and email services. We do not control or endorse third-party content, availability, privacy practices, or security.
8. Service availability and disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cadet Collective disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.
We do not guarantee anonymity, employment outcomes, the identity or affiliation of contributors, or the truth of user-submitted content.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cadet Collective and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, reputation, employment opportunities, revenue, or profits arising from use of the service or reliance on user content. Applicable law may not allow every limitation, so some may not apply to you.
10. Suspension, termination, and changes
You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion through account settings. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, security risks, legal requirements, or discontinuation of the service.
We may update these Terms as the service changes. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and, when appropriate, an in-service notice. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
